DIY: Custom Sneakers

Published 07/05/2013 by

How nice is the sneaker trend? Very nice. But everyone having the same sneakers? Not that nice. That’s why DIY was invented, to be different and allow you to have fun with clothes. Also, being creative is always good for the soul — or so I’ve heard. Here’s a simple project that lets you create your own custom sneakers.

What are you waiting for? Go buy a nice pair of Renda shoes (on s.a.l.e., my friends), fabric paint and you’re ready to go.

Step 1: Cut a shape into an old sponge that you’ll use as a painting tool. I decided to go for a triangle, but you can try a circle, a square or anything else that comes to mind.

Step 2: Pour your fabric paint into a small cup, so you can dip your shape and paint the sneakers.

Step 3: Dip the sponge and apply the paint on your sneakers. Repeat multiple times.

Step 4: Wear the shoes and get compliments!

You now have a totally different, unique, 90′s inspired pair of sneakers. Easy as that!
