It’s still winter, so until you can breakout your toes without the fear of frostbite socks are mandatory. Here are three different ways to jazz-up the It booties of the season.
The thigh-high sock
For legs that go on for miles, there’s only one option: thigh-high socks. Since they’re so feminine, I like matching them with more masculine pieces to balance my outfit without saying goodbye to my girly side. You shiver just by hearing the word “snowflake”? Put on a pair of tights on under your socks. Otherwise, your pretty legs will be all wrapped up under the blankets while you’ll be battling the flu. See more of the open-toed look here.
The cottage style sock
It’s simple: if wearing a blanket was socially accepted, that’s pretty all I would wear during winter. Until they start making rugs-to-wear, thick woolen socks are a totally okay compromise. They remind me of hanging out at the cottage, but are suitable for your regular life. A definite plus (well, for me at least)! Worn with my suede-like tasseled booties, it creates this chic yet relax look that I L-O-V-E. I also get to wear this dress that otherwise would not have seen the light of day until next summer. Oh and before I forget, you wanna know the best part? It’s like wearing slippers but with heels. Snag the bootie here.
The colourful sock
Unbelievable but true — a sock can be THE star of a look. How? Keep all you clothes in monochromatic tones (white, grey or black) and go crazy with your socks. Yellow, blue, pink, red! If your style inspiration runs dry one day, pick the most simple outfit and just add this tiny detail that will make a huge difference. It’s totally unexpected and it makes every step a little more joyful. Happiness is in the smallest things, right? Check out the boot here.
